Emaali Troupe

A professionalized music and dance ensemble representing Teso at national functions, weddings, and corporate events.

In development

The Emaali Troupe professionalises what Teso has always had: a body of musicians and dancers good enough to be paid properly for it. The ensemble is intended to represent the region at national functions, at weddings, and on corporate contracts.

Alongside Tours & Travel, the Troupe is the unit the Business Plan pairs with a Ministry of Tourism endorsement. Its income is expected to come from three directions — performance fees, government cultural grants, and entertainment contracts.

The Troupe is in development. The festival’s Ajosi and Akogo Dance Off, a competitive showcase drawing troupes from across the districts, is the ground this ensemble is being assembled from.
