Support the Legacy

A festival that builds what it celebrates

Our mission: to institutionalize Teso culture through sustainable social enterprises

The Emaali Project

Beyond a single weekend

Beyond the festival itself, the Emaali Project is a visionary social-enterprise model — one that moves past traditional event organizing into a year-round economic ecosystem.

By leveraging the Emaali spirit — the industrious, creative character of the Iteso people — the plan establishes five strategic business units designed to create jobs, boost tourism, and generate the capital required for the Teso Cultural Centre and the Emaali Producer housing project.

Financial Sustainability Plan

Three years to self-sufficiency

  1. 01

    Year 1 — Capital acquisition

Capital acquisition: tents, PA systems, and island-site development.

  2. 02

    Year 2 — Operational stability

Operational stability through Magazine revenue and event-equipment rentals.

  3. 03

    Year 3 — Regional expansion

Expansion of Tours & Travel to include East African regional circuits.

Expected Outcomes

What success looks like

  • Increased visibility of Teso culture within the national Ugandan identity.

  • 100% of the funds required for the feasibility study and initial monument designs secured.

  • A fully funded and scheduled construction plan for the Emaali Producer’s residence.

  • A roadmap for the 2027 district-level festivals.

Questions about the Legacy

Be part of what Emaali builds

A home for the Emaali Producer. A permanent Teso Cultural Centre. Neither is built by one festival weekend alone — both are built by everyone who joins the ecosystem.
