The Emaali Housing Fund exists to build decent, permanent shelter for the Emaali Producer: the individual whose creative and industrious work gives this festival its name and its argument.
It is not funded by ticket sales or by a single appeal. A dedicated percentage of net profits from every business unit in the ecosystem — the Magazine, Tours & Travel, the Troupe, Events and the Recreation Centre — is channeled into this fund and into the Teso Cultural Centre study. That is the whole reason the business units exist.
The fund is at the planning stage. Among the festival’s stated outcomes is a fully funded and scheduled construction plan for the Emaali Producer’s residence.
