In June the Uganda Tourism Board committed advertising, digital and creative support to the Emaali Cultural Festival. This month that support is on screen. Since 2 October, Explore Uganda — the Board’s destination brand — has been running a campaign for the Festival on X and Instagram, several of the posts shared jointly with the Board’s own Instagram account.
The campaign opened on 2 October with “Teso has a date with Kampala!” Each post since has taken one part of the region and invited its readers to meet it at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds on 24–25 October:
- Food — Teso’s food heritage, and the flavours and traditions on its tables.
- Music — the sounds of Teso, as another part of Uganda’s cultural story.
- Dress — the connection between dress, identity and cultural pride.
- Craft — the region’s creativity and the people who make things by hand.
- Stories — the knowledge, memories and traditions passed across generations.
Share it, and follow the Festival
The campaign runs under #EmaaliCulturalFestival. Send a post to someone you would bring to Kololo, and follow the Festival’s own accounts for the programme as it is confirmed: X, Instagram and TikTok.
The Board’s letter of support, and the rest of the Festival’s approvals, are on the Partners & approvals page.
